We serve dinner Tuesday – Saturday between 6pm – 8pm.
Lunch is served on a Saturday between 12pm – 1pm.

We require a £50 deposit per person for all lunch or dinner reservations.
We require a £150 deposit per person for all room & dinner reservations.
In the event of a cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date we will keep the whole payment as a cancellation charge. If we are able to re-let the booking we will refund the payment (minus a £10 administration charge). We will only accept cancellations by email. In the event of a cancellation outside of 14 days of the arrival date, we will refund the payment (minus a £10 administration charge).
Reservations are open until the end of November 2024.
We only serve one menu which is a Tasting Menu. We don’t offer an ‘A la Carte’ style menu.
We can offer a vegetarian/pescetarian tasting menu. When making a booking, please inform us if you have any dietary requirements as we need to know in advance so that we can prepare an appropriate menu for you.

When making a booking, please inform us if you are vegetarian or have any dietary requirements as we need to know in advance so that we can prepare an appropriate menu. With notice, we can adapt to most dietary requirements but as our food includes dairy products throughout, we are not able to cater for guests with severe lactose allergies or those who require a dairy-free diet. However, for those who cannot eat cow products, we are able to prepare a menu containing ingredients from sheep or goats instead. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Whilst we follow best practice at all times, we do like to highlight the fact that all the dishes we serve are produced in an environment where allergens are also prepared and cooked.

A discretionary service charge of 12.5% of all food and drink will be added to your bill, this is shared between all staff.
Unfortunately, we do not accept Amex as a payment method.
We are sorry, but given the time it takes and style of food we don’t feel that our restaurant is suitable for young children. We therefore don’t allow babies, infants or children under 10 in the restaurant.

Yes, we do. This does not have to be pre-ordered, it can simply be viewed and ordered during your visit.
Yes, we have eight rooms (ground & first floor) each with a walk-in shower and separate bath. We also have one attic room which has a bateau bath only and is wonderfully quirky (restricted headroom).
All room bookings include the Tasting Menu and breakfast for two people. Rooms all have king-size double beds. There are no single or twin-bedded rooms.
Since it would involve repeating the restaurant experience, The Black Swan is not suitable for multiple night bookings.
Guests are welcome to check-in from 4pm. Breakfast is served from 8.30am – 9.30am with check-out by 10.30am.
Please note we are CLOSED during the day. None of our rooms are in the main building at The Black Swan Oldstead, so for your convenience, we recommend leaving all your luggage in your vehicle on arrival. We will then show you the designated parking for your room.
We highly recommend booking a taxi as there are no taxis in Oldstead. The nearest taxi companies are located around 10 miles away, so if you need transport it is really important to book well in advance.

We recommend leaving around three hours to enjoy our Tasting Menu.
If you are looking to book a taxi for after dinner, we would recommend allowing an additional 30 minutes.
We provide hairdryers, irons and ironing boards in all our rooms.
Within the restaurant, we only offer tables that can seat a maximum of four guests.
We also have a private dining room that can seat parties of between 5-8 guests which we offer Tuesday – Friday.

There is no dress code so please dress as smart or as casual as you like.
